Policies and Ability Levels

  • Clay Workshops and Other Event Policies
    (The following policies do not apply for Wilderness Journeys or Creative Pathways or any “Donation Only” event.) We offer 100% refund on cancelations at least 3 weeks prior to the Workshop or Event. We offer 50% refund on cancelations less than 3 weeks prior to the Workshop or Event. No refund on cancelations less than 1 week prior to the Workshop or Event.
  • Wilderness Journeys Policies
    …for Diamond Heart Path and Medicine Walk only. If you are interested in participating in The Diamond Heart Path or the Medicine Walk please fill out the health disclosure form to apply. (Link in the description.) Minors are welcome to apply. They will be given special considerations and I will need a consenting adult’s signature for inclusion in the journey. If you’re qualified for the event you’ll be invited to register and pay for the event. Once I receive this, I’ll email your confirmation of registration of payment. This is your receipt. That email will also have a preparation packet containing information on transportation, personal equipment suggested, and liability waiver which you can email back to me. I’ll also be requesting a statement of intention or the reason you are undertaking this journey. You will also need to participate in a zoom meeting with the rest of your group about one week prior to your journey. I may also request a private zoom meeting with you. Registration closes 2 weeks prior to the event. We offer a 10% discount to participants who register at least 30 days prior to the start of any journey. Your participation on the journey will be canceled if payment is not received 2 weeks prior to the start of the event. Should unavoidable circumstances make your participation impossible, your fee — if you notify us at least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled starting date — may be returned or applied toward another program taking place within a year of your registration. If your notification is less than 2 weeks prior to the start of your journey 50% can be returned to you. The cost of each Diamond Heart Path, Medicine Walk, and Creative Pathways is listed in the descriptions. Should Heart Fire Sanctuary need to cancel any journey for any reason, you will receive a full refund. If you are sincere about your participation but you cannot currently afford the full cost, payment plans or discounts can be discussed. Please email me to describe your situation. Heart Fire Sanctuary is very aware and sensitive to the inequality and disadvantages that discrimination casts over both visible and invisible minorities. Please think seriously about whether you are ready to take this journey before you commit. Indecision and anxiety — especially as the quest dates approach — are a common experience, and the choice to act from the strength of your intentions rather than from your fears is an important and empowering decision. To render the most benefit from your journey I highly recommend registering for your journey well in advance. This will give you the much needed time to adequately prepare for your experience physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The act of writing your deeply personal intention is a beautiful soul searching activity that you will want to take your time with.   • Creative Pathways Policies
    Please note: 100% of the fee is due upon registration. Once I receive payment I’ll email you your confirmation. This is your receipt. That email will also have a preparation packet containing information on transportation, personal equipment suggested, and a liability waiver which you can email back to me. Should unavoidable circumstances make your participation impossible, and you notify us at least 2 weeks prior to your starting date — 100% of your fee can be returned to you. If your notification is less than 2 weeks prior to the start of your starting date 50% can be returned to you. The cost of each Creative Pathways is listed in the descriptions. I offer a 10% discount to participants who register at least 30 days prior to the start of any journey. Minors are welcome to apply. They will be given special considerations and I will need a consenting adult’s signature to include them in the Creative Pathways. If you are sincere about your participation but you cannot currently afford the full cost please email me to describe your situation.   • Physical Ability Ratings
    In the description of each offering is a physical ability rating. These are to help you choose the best event for your physical condition and experience. If there’s no rating it is considered to be a 1. These are only guidelines. Please contact me if you have any special needs for easy mobility or any questions. 1 – Very Easy – Like a walk in your local city park. Trail surface is generally flat and level. 2 – Easy – Trail is generally flat, with some rocky terrain and slight elevation gain. 3 – Moderate – Trail may include rocky or loose terrain, with steep sections and moderate elevation gain. 4 – Challenging – Trail is steep and rocky, with elevation gain of more than 1000 feet. May feature rock scrambles or other challenging features. Trekking poles recommended. 5 – Extremely Challenging – Off-trail travel. Terrain is variable and potentially steep. Good map and compass navigation, backcountry travel skills are a must.
