The Tea Pot
Gong Fu style tea preparation has been the preferred brewing style in China and Taiwan for centuries.
The special size of the tea pot, small cups, pitchers, water trays, and other utensils are designed to get the most from your tea.
In this workshop I’ll brew tea for you to show you the basics of tea pot design. Then, I’ll give you a basic pattern to follow to assemble a hand built tea pot. This design is basic but gives you the flexibility to customize the shape and design to reflect your personal style.
As part of tradition, these pots are not glazed. The interaction of the clay and tea are part of this ancient style.
Some experience with clay is helpful but not necessary.

All objects made by students that are not complete at the end of the workshop will not be fired and are the responsibility of the student.
